Microsoft Office 2000 is a version that works on Windows 98 if that helps.

Cant you just use an older version like Office 97 or 2000... i still have them:O or openoffice.org:$

You can use Microsoft Office XP Pro - Win98/ME/NT4/2K.
Buy it from $257.20

However, there are free alternatives that work on Windows 98.

Unfortunately, the most popular, OpenOffice.org, isn't supported by Win98.

Here's a list of freebies. You can find more on Google.

Depends what you need really. If you just want something like Word, there's many alternatives.

Thanks :D

EDIT: what programs can i use to make an image of the disc? i need to make an image so i can run it with alcohol 120%, the cd rom on the laptop is dead.. so need to use the virtual drive to install it..

Thanks!
RE: Microsoft Office for Windows 98 >>>>PLEASE<<<< by DJKAL on 09-11-2006 at 06:28 PM

you can use alcohol 120% to image discs, but - if your drive is knackered then no matter what software you use you will have to use a CD drive.
you will have to image it on another computer and then transfer the files to your windows98 laptop to install it. to do this you will need an external hard drive to transfer the files onto, then across to the other laptop. or, if you have a router - you can create a home network and then just move your files into your network folder then back out on the laptop.

and, XP may not function correctly on a system that was previously windows 98, so - you may have to go back to using windows 98, or try it with other versons such as 2000 until you get one that will work)

Microsoft Office 2000 and Microsoft Office XP both run on Windows 98, but Office XP is heavy, and I'd recomend Office 2000 on a computer that's running Windows 98. Even better would be to install Windows XP on the computer.

Usually, these days, if the computer will run XP, people will install XP. I have a feeling that M37A's laptop will not run Windows XP.

My advice would be the Office 2000 route.

I had a system, 233 MHz, 96 MB of ram, and yet it ran Windows XP. Faster than the 9x/ME series aswell.
