Connecting to IRC... without port 6667 by MeEtc on 09-14-2006 at 12:27 PM

Well, I'm stuck at school. Those mean Network admins have blocked pretty much every TCP port except for HTTP, FTP and email (probably for a good reason... :^) )

I have been trying to connect to #banana, but to no avail. Webchat ceases to work.
In the same manner, only MSN WebChat is available too.

Anybody know any workarounds?

14:29:39 -artifact.tx.us.msgplus.net- *** Listener on 206.180.144.97:7000, clients 1. is PERM

In other words, try ports 56789 or 7000.

Yeah, I know. But that's the best I can do, if you can't get on with those ports then you're screwed.

hmm, found another web-based client, but it needs a perl-enabled server to run on...

Makes no difference what client you use, as you still need to use the same port as with the webchat here.
