Firefox fucked by Curtis on 10-02-2006 at 10:42 PM

Well, about a week ago I reformatted my main drive and re-installed windows.  Everything was going fine, but then my dad re-arranged the house a bit and my firefox is running like a peice of crap now.  It's also been have corrupt file errors sayin something about profiles or w/e.  It also keeps going to the page that comes up when you install foxytunes for the first time.  Some of my bookmarks are also missing.  I was just wondering, is it maybe going to a restore point or something?  Or is it just fucked up?  If you know the problem or a possible solution.  Please tell me.

If you don't mind losing bookmarks, extensions, etc then do start > run > firefox.exe -ProfileManager  and then delete all profiles and make a new one, set it as the default and away you go.

EDIT:  Can back up your bookmarks by doing start > run > %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\  picking the profile folder and copying out the bookmarks.html file, which can be re-imported when you have a working profile. :)

you dont have to lose ur bookmarks  just go to ur C:\Documents and Settings\User Account\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\uo0xefrh.default\bookmarkbackups an get you bookmarks.html file from there, before making  a New Profile, , if you remember all your Extensions you have just reinstall them  into the new Profile  an Themes

to Make a New Profile in Firefox go to Start - Run - An Type in Firefox.exe -profilemanager an Hit OK or Enter

I've fixed it, thanks guys.  I didn't bother saving my bookmarks.  All it was was this site, a few other forums, some comics, and digg.  But now I gotta find all my porn again.

What i've noticed with my firefox at times is that when I load a page, the page hops non-stop which makes it difficult for me to click a link.:(

How about after the page loads? If not, then it's probably images loading that had no size defined in their HTML tags, and the page being resized to make room for them. Just wait for the page to load fully, or press "stop".

When the page is fully loaded an said Done, the 'stop' button becomes inactive while the page behaves like a Kangaroo...:(

On your machine: on other machines, the 'uo0xefrh' part will be different.
