It's true, they payed the    young founders ( one  is 28  one     is   29.) 1.65 BILLION US MOOLAH!! sorry for lack of link as im on my  psp. so what do you think? the 2 young founders already uploaded a video anncoment on youtube.

They monetize the content by adding adverts.  Google and YouTube have both also recently made deals with Song BMG and TimeWarner to show music videos etc, with sales of them too.

Google can keep the ad revenue now. And Google probably has sweeter deals on bandwidth prices than YouTube had. So the will earn more than the original YouTube creators did.

My guess is that the Video Google will be merged with it. When it comes down to it, Google does what it's meant to, but doesn't really look very nice. (The main reason I don't use the Google IM Client).

Hopefully, they'll promote YouTube over Google Video as it looks nicer and probably has more/better content.

They say they will give money to the uploaders themselves. I'm guessing adsence ad's on your videos ...

Well I don't think that Google will change Youtube in any way which is good.

Geez for something that started out as a garage product theyve done pretty dam well :P
Edit: In relation to alexs post after mine :P I saw on Channel Ten News Perth they said YouTube was originally a garage product, sorry. :P

I don't think Google will ever pay people to upload. IMO the idea is ridiculous anyway, totally kills the community feeling  of the site (as far as its still there). People will just use it to make some quick money instead of trying to be original/interesting.

Yeah I doubt they'll ever allow that, google get enough income from their advertising etc. anyway, they'll find a way to be able to keep the service free, they always do. Google are an excellent company.

That's not true. If you find a few people, a bit of money, something can start off a lot bigger than just a small garage project. Believe me it can with the right amount of money and etc.

Oh, if i was one of those 2, i would retire and put all of the money on the bank and live of interests...
