how to disable the /functions by fudgie- on 10-11-2006 at 04:17 PM

i have emoticons with the /functions example /lol. whenever i /lol it will popup "the command entered was not recognised"
anyway to disable it?

type in //lol :)

It does work, you just have to type it fast enough so that the menu doesn't appear.

edit: hmaster, that doesn't work.

You could just change the emoticons shortcuts to something else? like .lol or !lol or :lol or *lol or whatever?

I think he means typing in a slash at the beginning of a message without getting prompted that it is not recognised. Just put a double slash and Plus! will ignore it.

yeah i meant that. but im used to the /lol function. so theres no way to disable the / function?

Yeah there is:

  • Go to Plus! -> Preferences
  • Click on the Conversations tab
  • Untick "Enable commands (special messages beginning with "/")"

Please note: Turning off that option will disable all commands, not just fix the /lol problem.
