Just to let you guys know that Mozilla Firefox 2.0 Final has just been uploaded to the Mozilla site. Although it has not yet been announced on the Firefox home page.

I don't think the main pages have been updated yet. This build has no indication thats it's an RC build.

I've been using the new FF since it came out.  I love it.  After updating, all my plugins work, except:

FasterFox (Don't need anymore)
Tab Mix Plus (Don't need anymore)
Google 403 Bypasser (Never needed anyway)
Search Plugins Hack (Convienient, but not really needed)

I want at least Session Saver (the crash-proof one) and the undo close tab feature (don't know which one does that)
the rest of them would be really nice, but if these are available I will be more likely to switch.

thats because it takes time for the mirrors to update, so they release it on their own servers and then wait until the mirrors update and THEN they update the main page :) otherwise it puts too much strain on the main mozilla ftp (this is what they always do :P)

Oh and also andrey this thread isnt about what browser you use, its a thread talking about the new firefox and how its released. no one cares if you use opera. The same goes to everyone else who posted "xxx > *"

You're either running one of the Release Candidates (they say 2.0 in about) or the build that was uploaded to FTP. It still hasn't been released though--at least not officially. That Mozillazine link tells why you shouldn't download the FTP version.

I'll probably leave it until it's available on the homepage to download it - I doubt there's much difference between RC3 and the release version.

That's included by default in Fx 2.0 anyway.

The only extension I don't have working is Fasterfox, although I haven't really noticed any speed decrease without it.

I'm using it now and it's all good, it's the same as release candidate 3, it just has a load of fixes, I would've expected them to make some of their changes more visible though.

The whole point of a release candidate is that it's meant to be what you're going to release + some bugs. :chrongue:

That's what I was thinking.

I'm not going to update yet anyway. I switched from FF 1.5 to Opera 9 but Opera constantly killed my internet so I went to FF 2.0, but it didn't have enough support for my extensions so back down to FF 1.5. Now I'll be going up to FF 2.0 again :-/

That page detects the language preferences in your browser and gives you a localized version based on that.

:S i got rc from friend. never downloaded stuff from their site. auto update in firefox. and the first time i installed it i got the exe from i cant remember where :S first time i use the site to get it :P

Firefox is great. IE7 is just trying to keep track with the other browsers, since they couldn't think of tabs earlier.
