Just checking... by Wast on 10-24-2006 at 11:58 AM

Alright, I use Windows Live Messenger with Messenger Plus! Live. Now, most people on my contact list use 7.5 with or without Plus!, meaning that when I come to use text formatting tags, they can't see the effect, however I can see their text formatting clearly.

I know this is a compatiablity issue, but I just wanted to check if there is anyway of making the (BB) tags compatiable with 7.5, other than downgrading? Thanks in advance.

Yes but they have to get plus first so they will see the colour but not the background colour

Even if they have Plus, they still can't see the color formatting.

The only way for the people who have 7.5 to see your nickname is you have to use the old method of IRC style shortcuts.

Yeah, I tried changing the formatting from BB to IRC earlier on, yet still no change.

1. Open a chat window and type "/nick ".

2. Leave a space, then hold CTRL and press the R key. This will open a box of colours and choose the colour you want your screen name to be.

3. You can also make it bold and italics and strike through

4. Press Enter you should have a coloured screen name that people who have 7.5 can see.

Hmm... Where do you enter the text? When I try that I get:

" /nick (Ctrl + R) 31 "

Or whatever color I choose.

But where do I put the test I want to be in that color? All that happens is I press 'Send' and the text disappears.

Put the text after the number and after you press sen it should change the colour of your screen name.
