Is there any real working addon for firefox that is not a virus that speeds up your downloads in your download manager?

Dta (DownThemAll) is a separate Download Manager Extension, but still does a great job.

For speeding up Firefox in general I suggest FasterFox, FasterFox tweaks some configuration keys to allow better use of bandwidth, it can be done manually too, by going to about:config and knowing which keys to change, but it's a nice and easy front end for it.

So Dta, is supposed to like increase my kb per second when downloading?

DownThemAll works like normal Download Accelerators by downloading multiple pieces of the file at once.

However most servers nowadays have such big upload lines that you will max out your line without the accelerator already.

Also some servers do now allow multi-part downloading and will cause the download accelerator to not function properly and download at normal speed.

I suggest firetune over fasterfox.

Fasterfox fucked a few things up and really slowed down rather than sped up

I don't know about FireTune but I do have the link for FasterFox

I use flashget program, then use addon called flashgot. that alows u to download files via firefox using flashget

What is your average kbps range?

omg!! i got at least 500 kbps with flashget +flashgot, but with orbit only 100-200.

I always maxed out on my connection. 55. A new version was released a couple of days ago which adds support for Firefox.

Plus, Orbit does a few more handy things that I need which other download managers cannot do.

i'd reccomend firetune [what i use]

i also use downlaodthem all for files 100mb+

Orbit is now giving me speeds of 1.7 kbps

Laugh laugh, while for me its taking 2 hours and 10 minutes to download a song. Orbit has now slowed down my flashget, i used to get 500 kbps, now 50 wtf!!!!!!!!!
