Are these safe to download things from: RE: Are these safe? by Felu on 11-04-2006 at 02:33 PM They are p2p softwares. They send files from one computer to another so you can't be sure of them being safe. RE: Are these safe? by Steven on 11-04-2006 at 02:34 PM Well, it depends what you download from them. I suggest limewire if you are looking for p2p downloads. And just because they SAY spyware free doesnt mean they are. Limewire is pretty clean. I trust that. RE: Are these safe? by ins4ne on 11-04-2006 at 02:37 PM i used shareaza for a long time and its pretty good. limewire isnt that bad but its adware. i recommend frostwire. the free alternative of limewire. RE: Are these safe? by EBFL on 11-04-2006 at 02:38 PM
I have Limewire PRO RE: Are these safe? by ins4ne on 11-04-2006 at 02:39 PM they are safe. as long as you pay attention to what you download!! and never trust others. always scan everything with av software. thats what i do. and i never had problems RE: Are these safe? by EBFL on 11-04-2006 at 02:41 PM
RE: Are these safe? by Vilkku on 11-04-2006 at 06:08 PM [OT] LimeWire has adware? RE: Are these safe? by elektra on 11-04-2006 at 06:25 PM I use limewire its always good never lets me down RE: Are these safe? by ins4ne on 11-04-2006 at 06:39 PM
quote:limewire IS adware ill make a screenshot from a very good and respected german computer-site where you can get limewire. and they say its adware. i trust them cuz they know what they talk about. translation: Sofwareart = software-type RE: Are these safe? by Voldemort on 11-04-2006 at 07:10 PM kceasy ftw. RE: Are these safe? by ins4ne on 11-04-2006 at 07:11 PM wtf is kceasy??? p2p software? good one? post link. RE: Are these safe? by Voldemort on 11-04-2006 at 07:19 PM
www.kceasy.com RE: Are these safe? by ins4ne on 11-04-2006 at 07:22 PM
gnutella. the word i wanted to read in your reply. RE: Are these safe? by LoochTheMan on 11-04-2006 at 10:23 PM It also depends on the type of file you download from each of these p2p programs. For example if the folder is smaller than a megabyte and your downloading a song, there is potential risk in downloading it. There was a post on a Morpheus board that had a list of suspicious files to look out for. I know that when I had Limewire it did filter out some of these suspicious files, but downloading with caution always works. RE: Are these safe? by EBFL on 11-04-2006 at 10:25 PM
Ok RE: Are these safe? by lizard.boy on 11-04-2006 at 10:42 PM
They say spyware free because they are claiming that the program itself is spyware free. It is however possible that the files you are downloading are malware or infected with a virus. FFS, RE: Are these safe? by ins4ne on 11-04-2006 at 11:28 PM
quote:like everything you get with kazaa. so be careful. but i dont think that anybody uses it anyways. it was good but nowadays there are much better p2p clients out. quote:i have to agree with that. quote:yea thats the cause i hate it. when you have a computer like me (320mb SDram), limewire fucks it up until you start it but its good, when you dont use the free version. ads and crap. but there are ways to get the pro version. but like with almost everything; it depends on the users opinion which client he uses edit: omfg @ my post i hope anyone gets what i mentioned to say RE: RE: Are these safe? by segosa on 11-05-2006 at 01:11 AM
quote: Yes, and every respected website that says MsgPlus is adware is correct. RE: [Updated..] Are These Programes Safe? by LittleK on 02-24-2007 at 01:27 PM
quote: In all fairness, adware is bundled into some of the files you download. No system is in place with LimeWire to make sure your not downloading crap. I have a feeling thats what he means. RE: [Updated..] Are These Programes Safe? by joey on 02-25-2007 at 10:45 AM yeah, they dont necessarily have spyware or adware installed in them but what you download may have it in. |
