Visual Style problem by Weyzza on 11-05-2006 at 09:11 AM

I don't remember exactly what might cause it, but I hope someone knows what the problem is and how to fix it.

I tried to use a visual style this morning.
I used this patch and then played around with some styles, decided to use one of them, restarted the computer, took a shower, and sat at the computer only to find the style disappeared and replaced with the one like

Do you guys have any idea what was going on?

right click my computer, advanced, Settings under performance

Tick everything (if you can) if they're not not already ticked.

1. I have reinstalled the patch.
2. I already got all checkboxes under performance ticked. (thanks for reminding me to check that
3. Theme service is always running.

They didn't fix the problem.

Also, make shure that you extract the themes to C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes
This does the trick, but I wonder if it's the correct step.
I am "shure" (:chrongue:) I could install a visual style from everywhere (eg. Desktop, My Document, etc.) without having the themes extracted to a certain folder.

But you could not change the visual style files location after the install :)
