sign out alert by dizzy on 11-11-2006 at 12:46 PM

Hi,

1) Is there a way to set an alert to inform you when a contact goes offline - as happens when they come online ?

2) Also, I'm sure I saw somewhere once, that you can set things so's  there's a log of the times contacts change their status - can't find it now though :-(

3) I still cannot display one of my contacts on my desktop as the option is not available for that particular person :(

(running version 8.0 with windows live messenger)

Thanks.

Right Click on the person you want on you contact list --> Messenger Plus! Features --> Display on Desktop

Selecting "events notification' and "inform of any status change' for a contact - only logging in / out alerts pop up (ie. Not any other status such as away).

Also, if I have a contact blocked, it now tells me when they are signing out if "inform of any status change' is selected but not when they sign in?? ^o)

Edit: I take this back :-)

It all works fine - I just hadn't applied the new settings properly :$ :$

I knew about right clicking and selecting display on desktop, but for one contact the option was greyed out, I have asked this Q before here but there appeared to be no solution ...

This is sooo annoying - down to one contact now who I can't display (the person I always have floating on my desktop) - no option to do so - the option is greyed out

reported before. eg:

although no clear fix or reason why this happens is given.

However, I found that by selecting "display contacts on desktop' through clicking
plus > contacts on desktop. I was able to select my problem contact this way ... and low and behold - problem solved, he is now sitting in the corner of my screen
:P:)

About the greyed out problem: this is caused by your contact's Windows Live profile. Select "Edit contact" in the menu, go in the
"Contact" section and remove any other mail that's specified.
