My Dlink DIR-625's Port Forwarding Just...Died :p by prashker on 11-21-2006 at 11:13 PM

I have  a DIR-625 with Firmware version 1.08

That is my router. I don't know when it happened. Probably yesterday as before that it was fine.

I port forwarded my stuff here. I did this some time ago.

FOR EXAMPLE. I will post with uTorrent stuff. BUT ALL MY PORTS I FORWARDED DON'T WORK

As you can see, port 55557 is forwarded to 192.168.1.188

I AM SURE this is my ip. Says my router as it shows the IP's currently connected. And my computer says. So I am 100% sure it's that.

uTorrent is using port 55557 as seen below, along with the Red Exclamation mark and the error message (The circle should be Green not red)

When I click "Test if port is forwarded properly" I get to this page.

quote:
Welcome to the µTorrent Port Checker.
A test will be performed on your computer to check if the specified port is opened.

Checking port 55557 on 74.104.105.251...

Error! Port 55557 does not appear to be open.

Please see www.portforward.com for more information about how to map a port.

Please make absolutely sure that PeerGuardian2 or Protowall is allowing utorrent.com (72.20.34.145) in either of those programs. Those of you using ipfilter.dat should make sure the list does not include the website's IP. After making sure of this, re-run this test by refreshing the page (F5).

I have not changed anything, got any new firewalls. It's been working for as long as I can think. It just 'died' recently.

Any ways I could fix?

PS: I have tried changing the ports. It does not work.
I have tried changing my IP. I change it but still nothing.

Shouldnt the name be Utor1 ?

Look down the bottom http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_f...v1.05/Utorrent.htm

Plus i always get a red ! on mine but i still get full speed.. and that port checker site never works for me, even though i do have the port open.

Thats a default name, it was like that before.  I changed after the problem happened :p

It is a name you will remember.

Have you got firewall software on your computer?  Make sure it is allowed through that.  Btw, my port forwarding through my router is not named that Dazzy but it still works, I still get the green tick icon.

No I do not

I emailed D-Link. Maybe they can use their read off the screen technical support skills 8-)

Just reflash the firmware..
You shouldn't need to have to port forward anyway.
UPnP > *

Did not work. Nor does UPnP

I think it may be time to bite the bullet and buy a new router.

So do you have any idea how you fixed it? Because I'm having the same problem with the same router. I found this thread by searching for help on Google. I'm port-forwarded with a number of Linksys routers in the past and never had any problem. This is my first Dlink and I followed the instructions and yet I keep getting this message:

Change the name Utor1 to something else?

It does not need to be Utor1.

I have mine as "utorrent"
RE: My Dlink DIR-625's Port Forwarding Just...Died :p by Scudworth on 02-16-2007 at 03:12 PM

I tried that and it still gave me the same message. Do you have all the boxes checked off? That's when I get this message. When I have none of them checked, I'm able to save the settings but then uTorrent is as slow as ever. When I have just one of them checked, I get some other error message.

isn't that port being used for something else?

Try typing "netstat -a" in comand prompt and using a port that says  LISTENING as it's state.

Try to set yourself into the DMZ, if that still doesn't work you need to exchange your router.

Re-flashing the firmware could work, but as D-link sucks it may brick it in the process.

RE: My Dlink DIR-625's Port Forwarding Just...Died :p by matty on 01-04-2010 at 02:56 PM

Is there a firewall running on the router that is blocking traffic?

Have a few, included port 4000 being listed as listening (and is port forwarded), however it's still not open.

:zippy: I suppose I should get another router, it's pretty old, but this should work, why would port-forwarding suddenly break

Check your WAN ip address, make sure that you are not getting a private one (192.168.x.x).

RE: My Dlink DIR-625's Port Forwarding Just...Died :p by lizard.boy on 01-04-2010 at 09:59 PM

Double check your computer's firewall settings.

Also: check to see if a newer router firmware exists.

Disabled on the PC and I have the latest firmware (I have the first revision of the DIR-625)
