Internet Explorer/Firefos problem... by aunwit on 11-26-2006 at 11:30 PM

i installed IE7 a few hours ago, but i noticed that a lot of websites did not turn out right - how they are supposed to appear...so i decided to uninstall it and change back to IE6...i did so successfully, but now everytime i type in a URL in IE6, it opens up a new tab in Firefox and opens the web page there...even if i click on the Homepage in IE6, it does the same thing...what happened? does anyone know how to fix this?

thanks for any help...

Just do a system restore and it should be back the way it was.

damnit i knew someone would say that :'(...

i just gotta know one thing before i do that...i'm downloading something right now - about 450MBs in...if i restore to yesterday, where my download was about 250mbs...would it restore it back to 250mb, or would it stay the same [450mb] as it is now...?

Finish the downloading first, the restore will not affect the file, it will still be there.

Try resetting the IE settings. I think it is in the advanced tab (Tools > Internet Options).

Why people automatically say do a system restore on every little problem is beyond me. Figure out how to fix it first. That was you learn also.

You could also try to Fix IE.
