I wonder how its tires keeps it's traction...planes dont even go that fast that quickly, and they got huge engines...

its basically in a closed circle, the rotation makes it drive horizontally, so the faster it goes the more traction

OMG! That's one of the most awesome things i've ever seen And like linx05 said, it isn't fake. The 'bird' around 51' is a bit fast but its a bit small too

It is absolutely real...
Weither or not the R/C car goes 200 miles/h or not can't be checked, but real cars can go beyond 200 miles/h (another one of those really stupid arguments why this should be fake)...
The wire is needed so the car doesn't go flying off...
The guy in the beginning pulling the wire is needed because the acceleration of the motor isn't powerfull enough to start the car (this is the same principal used in real x-treme racing cars too). Power and speed are two things which useually don't go together... Take your Lego technics blocks and build a windmill that goes really fast, you would have no trouble holding it still, build one which goes really slow and you will have difficulty holding it still...
The "bird" you see is very obviously an insect in the foreground flying before the lense.
