how can i set my auto massage to let my contacts know that im away after locking messenger plus

Go to Plus Preferences > Messenger > Messenger Lock
Check "Change My Status:" If you have not already,
Then select the personalised status at the end of the list 
(Mine are the last 4)
If you do not have any personalised status' to chose from.
Go to
Customize > Personalised Status > Add
And setup from there, then do the beginning stuff again
