I think its because the contact may have something in there name to make the 'says' bit white.

All my downloaded themes didin't work but the xp classic did :(, oh well, back to old crap windows theme

Right click desktop > properties > appearance > advanced > Item = "Tooltip" > change font or item color to some other color than white.
