After a quick Google search:
Instant Messengers for Debian
Debian -- gaim

And just to clear up confusion..

Messenger Plus! works with MSN Messenger
Messenger Plus! Live work with Windows Live Messenger

It's impossible to run Linux with Windows Live Messenger (I've tried Wine, Cedega, etc.) -- You can not use MP! neither MP! Live on Linux too so you could only install a 3rd party MSN/WLM version.

Doesn't the latest version of Wine have the ability to use Windows DLLs directly in Linux? If so, and you have a (legal) Windows disc, it may be possible to get WLM running, along with MP!L.
