help help! (Taskbar: can't see inactive icons) - Printable Version

ok, you know the arrow that is usually in the circle next to the time in the bottom right hand corner? it's not there!!!! i can't see the inactive icons, how can i make it come back??? please help me! :$

Can you post a picture of it?
EDIT: Oh i get it.
Right click on the bottom toolbar > properties > hide inactive icons
I think that'll help

Have you installed any programs that could of made this happen? have you tried to restart your computer?
maybe a screenie would help, there may be a clue there which could help us help you.

Not sure how to post a screenie...


1) Hit Print Screen or Print Scrn on your keyboard
2) Open Paint and go Edit -> Paste
3) Go File -> Save as and make sure "Saev File as" has got JPEG and press save
4) unload the images here using the attachment feature.

i tried the hide inactive icons, but it didn't work, its the same, and i haven't downloaded anything yet

Tried restarting your computer simply :\ sometimes when "Windows Explorer" crashes on me i have to reboot for it all to return to normal. :S
EDIT: But that could just be me :\

No restart necessary. Just go CTRL+ALT+DEL -> Processes tab -> Kill "explorer.exe"

Hip hip hurrah for taskmgr.exe!!!:P

EDIT: they're both the same, though, aren't they?:P

Right Click on taskbar > Properties > Notification Area > Hide Inactive Icons
that should restore the arrow
