wmp 11 - sluggish by Jarrod on 12-25-2006 at 12:29 PM

has anyone noticed windows media player uses a really slugish playing engine?

RE: wmp 11 by Chris4 on 12-25-2006 at 12:32 PM

It does?

What exactly do you mean?

RE: wmp 11 by Jarrod on 12-25-2006 at 12:35 PM

me and my friend both noticed it slows our comps down it takes longer to open files, it makes movies look really badly endoced but when run i power dvd they're fine and it makes our comps lag

I agree with you in the music part. But on the movies/video part, I have to agree with you to only an extend.

Nah, ram is not the problem here.
I have 256MB ram on a Pentium III 1.06GHz laptop, and WMP11 is working fine.
To tell you the truth, I haven't tried playing any videos, since I recently formatted, and don't have any videos in this computer.

Try disabling the visualization and see if this solves your problem with music playback.
