Hi

Is there different skins for WLM  8.0?
If so could somebody link me to were i could get them, or maybe a small tutorial on how to use them.

Thanks (Y)

Here are links to the most popular WLM skins around, these are the ones that i consider to be the best out so far.

And I am also launching a skin for WLM 8.0 early next year so thats another one to the list. Hope that helps.

Some skins come with installers that do all the work for you, but others just come with a .dll file only.

To install a dll type one just first check that the wlm versions its for is the same as the one you have set up. This can be found in the about section of your Windows Live Messenger under Help -> About Messenger.

Then go to C:/Program Files/MSN Messenger and make a backup copy of msgsres.dll (in case something goes wrong or you wanna undo later)

Then just copy the new dll into that directory.

I love the Rahxephon skin.  I just wish I knew of an easy way to edit it.  There's a few minor changes I'd like to do for my own sake.

Yeah, x2. I'd also love an easy way to edit it. Maybe someone will create a programme allowing you to do just that... 8-)
hint.

I tried Reshacker with the skin.  All the .PNG images are hex values.  I don't know how to extract that to an image, or even replace it.

Here's some info about editing WLM skins with reshacker.
