If you open the contact info window (or shared folder window) of a friend with coloured display name, you see the colour codes not colorful.

As for the contact information panel:
This is not a bug but done on purpose.
The name shown is the raw name without the parsed formatting tags.
Dunno about the reason why the shared folders window doesn't show parsed names, but it can be:
- technically not possible
- possible, but not yet implemented
- forgotten
So, it wouldn't be a bug either though...
