wiimote uses for pc by Supersonicdarky on 01-07-2007 at 03:40 AM

is it possibile to use the wii remote as a mouse and maybe winamp control? i bring my laptop down to the basement a lot and connect it to the surround sound system. and to change a song i usually have to stand up and change it, but since i have bluetooth it would be much easier with a wiimote :)

yeah it is possible. just go to this website
http://carl.kenner.googlepages.com/glovepie
and download the program. it comes with a few scripts to control itunes, winamp, media player and that, so you dont have to create your own.  I use it a lot, as i have rechargeable batteries for my wiimote. if i didnt have those batteries i wouldnt bother as the bluetooth suchs the batteries dry pretty quickly

What's the deal with this program!  Anywhere I download it the ZIP is corrupted.  I don't know if its because I got Vista or not.  GlovePIE.... any site that has it, it says the zips corrupted after I DL it.  I tried every version.

Try one of the other links. The first 2 I downloaded were corrupt, but http://flightpad.net/files/GlovePIE029.zip wasn't.

Glovepie can only be used if you have a compatible bluetooth connector. I actually connect my PC to my TV and use a wireless mouse when entertaining sometimes (iTunes up or something), it is easy to setup and certainly draws attention (I use cover flow in fullscreen) :P.

I can't get my Wiimote to connect to my computer.  It detect it, but it won't connect.  And my adapter is listed in the supported devices (IOGear Model GBU221).
