Request - Optional URL Open by jameslives on 01-10-2007 at 04:26 PM

hey all

is it possible to make a script that makes it so when i click an url in a convo it asks me if i want to open it?
because my mouse is messed up and sometimes clicks it accidentally and runs it in my other browser which takes ages to load so this would be useful

Isn't it just easier to buy a new mouse? An optical mouse with scroll wheel is less than 10GBP easy nowadays.

StuffPlug 3 does this.

That only opens in default browser, nothing else

He is after a warning before the link is opened.

it may be cheaper to buy a mouse but the script would still be useful
its not just the mouse, like if i was to click it accidentally i dont want it to open without confirmation

I think it's actually the client that handles the click event for what it determines to be a link and so would require some kind of patch... Or you can go into the options and disable links. If you then NEED to click the link, you can copy/paste the url into a browser or use a script (such as FindLinks) to open it

No is not quite easy...to do it it's necessary using api hooking or patching and i think that it's useless hard-working on it.....Buy a new Mouse :P:P:P
