[fixed] Help! Random shutdown by YottabyteWizard on 01-13-2007 at 07:17 AM

Well, as the title says.

My computer is randomly shutting down, like if I unplug the power cable. Sometimes it will last hours, sometimes seconds.

The only thing that I added recently is a SATA controller and a SATA HDD, but I removed both of them and still is happening.
CPU Temp is normal, but anyways I cleaned all the dust inside.

Any ideas?

sounds like a stop error, dose the blue screen of death flash too quickly to see before it shuts down?

wouldn't a stop error reboot your computer?
well you can turn that off by:
qinkey+pause -> advanced -> (boot and repair) settings -> and remove the tick before auto reboot at system failure...

It could be your powersuply, but then it's strange that it didn't stop after removing the extra hardware... Does it matter what you do for the system to shutdown?

stop over clocking your computer.

There's no BSOD. It will just shutdown, no restart =/

No, sometimes just after turning the computer ON (on the POST screen) will shutdown, sometimes I can log into windows and will shutdown after a random time (1 hour, 15 mins, 2 mins, ...) so, I don't have the software has anything to do.

I don't know the answer to your problem, but if you have a second, go Start > Run > type in SHUTDOWN -A and it will Abort the shutdown.

It seems the problem was with the PSU. I exchanged the PSU of my computer with another computer of mine and now the two of them are working perfectly, no shutdown o.O

Thanks for your replies =)
