This may sound stupid... but how do I open Windows Live Messenger again after locking it? I had to re-install as I didn't know.

If you're talking about the Messenger Plus! lock feature (I can't see anything like that without MP!) then usually all you need to do is do the same thing as when you locked it, eg. You locked it with, say, CTRL+L, then press CTRL+L again to unlock.

that method doesn't always work, but nine times out of ten this method will and has been proven time and time again...
look for a network hard drive like icon around the bottom right hand corner of your screen (or if you prefer, near your clock), if you can't see it, just try unhiding the icons there
, and double click it, if that doesn't help hold "Ctrl" while you double click
