The water mark is set by your host/server.
It asks for a password because the site you downloaded it from must of put one on, go back to the site, and see if it says anyhere what the password to the file is.

Don't open it, just copy it into C:/Program files/Msn messenger
KEEP A COPY OF YOUR ORIGINAL msgsres.dll FIRST

If this skin is Vista Live Messenger, then the password of the RAR file would be "vlm". Normally, you should look at the site where you downloaded it to get the password.

Ans yes, you have to copy the DLL to your Program Files. But first rename the already existing version to make sure you have a backup when it'd fail to work. ;)

Right lol, you should of copied the original one out to your desktop, then copied the new one in and click overwrite(or something like overwrite)

RE: Skins. by EBFL on 01-25-2007 at 07:19 PM

It was saying that it couldnt overwrite because it was still open even though i exited, but i tried task manager and closed the rest and it worked.
Thanks though.

Gah, Vista Live Messenger is driving me nuts. I'm constantly being emailed about getting to install it. The instructions on Deviantart are not really helpful, and adding a password has made the situation a lot worse. I just wish a simple installer could be made :P.

I might get the old skin again. [Image: VistaWLM.PNG]

I like the vista one. The only thing i hate is the fact that the contact list is so big!
