Hi there trying to make a move from 7.5 to live messenger but my conntacts will not apear in live but they do in 7.5 i imported my conntact list in live btu still wont show peoples names or there staus there just emails and all offline can some one help me please

Try clearing your contacts cache.

WLM probably doesn't look at the contacts' names. It may be that WLM hasn't seen the contacts' names because none have come online yet, and so the contacts cannot tell you what they're called. I'm not sure, cause I don't know a whole heap about WLM and/or MSN, so you never know.

Did you use the Messenger Plus! 3 Custom Names feature? If you did, well no wonder your not seeing it, it's because Windows Live Messenger has it's own nickname feature, thus it was removed from Messenger Plus! Live. As of yet, no one has found a way to get the old information and place it into Live Messenger's feature. So get the good old friend, pen and paper and hop to it.
