Poll "Bumped" when Voting by Nagamasa on 02-02-2007 at 11:08 PM

(This is referring to the Poll Centre, and not necessarily anywhere else)

I go to the end pages, and I find the Milkshake Poll (tid=55281). I want other people to see this poll too, and yet not double-post.

Perhaps I can vote, and it is bumped up to the front, as if it was a post in the regular forums?

I don't think it can be done, but its a good idea.

Edit: What I meant with it can't be done is that it shouldn't be done, or as you said it would be impractical. Even though it is a good idea, having threads bumped for every vote would be rather annoying. |-)

how can it not be done? it just wouldnt be practical if people find really old polls and vote on them. if anything, it should be every 5th vote bumps it up.

But as mentioned earlier, what if I'm the only one even bothering to vote in the Milkshake Poll?

No poll is old if its good (and that the poster updates it) if the ways listed here are put in place.

How about a latestvotes.php :zippy:

RE: Poll "Bumped" when Voting by Felu on 02-03-2007 at 04:09 AM

But then polls would get on the top of latest posts page every time someone votes. This would create unnecessary Polls coming up on the latest posts and the normal threads to go down [Image: msn_tongue.gif]. But if updating on the latestvotes.php doesn't effect latest posts page, i won't mind it, even though i may not use it [Image: msn_tongue.gif].

Remember: There can be Polls in other categories too execpt Poll Center.

:p no it would be a completely different page ;)
I like the idea of latestvotes.php... but also the idea of every fifth... Cause it would be nice to have these older polls that nobody sees come up once in a while.

It should get bumped if it's in the Poll Centre.

I think it would be OK if the thread was bumped on the forumdisplay page but not on the Latest Posts page. However, both pages use the same sorting method, so I dunno how I'd make them behave differently... :dodgy:

New column "pollbump", sort by that column for the poll forum only. :P

New columns suck though. -_-

* WDZ will think about it ¬_¬

Why not make poll center post-able

Disable post count, but keep rules for posting intact (to prevent spamming)

RE: Poll "Bumped" when Voting by WDZ on 02-20-2007 at 03:58 AM

The whole point of Poll Center is that no replies are allowed. It's just pure polls. :-/

If the creator of a poll wants replies, he or she can post it in another forum. :P
