does anybody know where i can download a free program that i can take screenshots with. and it needs to work with windows vista.

You can use the tool that already is in Vista, or you can press the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard, and paste it into Paint, Photoshop, etc. ;)

where in vista is the program to make screenshots?

Try FastStone Capture... Does work with Vista, but I don't know if it catches the transparency of the window properly.

But then again... If you just want a normal screenshot and do not want to isolate any objects in your screen, simply use Print Screen.

I use Super Screen Capture. You can use it, even if the trial expires :P.

I do agree with WinSnap... but since it went shareware starting 2.0.1... I recommended that other one above.
