Itunes by Ptoye on 02-17-2007 at 06:05 PM

Hey,

well today i wanted to convert all my Music in my Itunes libary over to MP3 because i hate apple's AAC format :@, so i went on the web and could not find any convertors :@. so i decided to just re-do my libary when importing them, so to save time i burned some using the laptop and some using the PC in the hall, i then send the ones from the PC over the network to my laptop (where i want all my music to be). Then i know i have more than 523 songs so i went into the atual files in explorer and right clicked and went to properties, this says i have 732 files(E.G 732 songs) so i have worked out that the ones i have send over the network have not been added to the atual libary although i put them in the itunes music folder :S

You need to import songs using iTunes, it reads an .xml file, it does not check the files within a folder :).

so if i go into the folder again and delete all the networked songs and then dragged them across into the itunes screen to add each song that way would that work?

BTW thanks :D:D

No, just go into iTunes:

File > Add Folder > Add your iTunes music folder ;)

iTunes 7 is so much easier and user friendly with dealing where your songs are stored, it truly has improved a lot :).

woah woah woah hold yer horses, desktop.ini's and album art also count towards file numbers too!

and if it's my guess you'll have a few hundred hidden files in there as well as your music collection!
