[SOLVED] Spyware Problem by MicroWay on 02-18-2007 at 02:08 AM

Hello people,

My friend is having a problem with a spyware on WLM...
Actualy both of us don't know if it continues on the computer, as we try running (in safe mode) Norton, AVG, Ad-Aware and Spybot and none of them found something. :S
Anyway... the problem is that when a contact window has being opened (even if the contact "calls" or my friend does it), automatcly is sent a link "hometown.aol.com/ghnbu784/cartao.zip" and them the window is closed.
I've search for an answer on Google and in this forum, but there is no answer for this case...
Tryed to contact microsoft and messenger, but no answers too...

Anybody can help???

Thanks in advance
;)

I may have understood incorrectly, but did you try after doing this?

It seems to be a 'brazilian' worm, as when I search for solutions I only find pages in Portuguese.

This appears to be one solution, though it is on portuguese:

I think I understood your point...

The spyware enters on computer and started with the link... After this we tryed to run the programs (listed up) in safe mode (and it show no results).
Than we try to call microsoft, messenger and (now I remembered) Symantec... but no answers found

Could I explain it???

Don't worry, because I answered it before I saw your reply.

Anyway... thanks for the link you gave me... It worked!!!
As I could see, I did the search using hometown and not cartao.zip... :$

Thanks to Voldemort too
;)
