sorry, this isn't Messenger Plus related, didn't know where else to ask...

i've been looking for something like this for years... even back in the day since msn 6. i have alot of custom emoticons and i really can't be assed loading them one by one and putting the shortcut commands in. isn't there a program that just imports them and uses the file name as the shortcut or something :(

Now that you have the MessengerContent folder on the new computer or the USB thumb drive, it is time to have Messenger on that computer use this content.

         1. Exit Messenger.
         2. Open a command prompt using the same steps described in Step 2 above.
         3. In the command prompt window, change to the location where your Messenger content is stored.  (ex. USB thumb drive).
         4. In the command prompt window, type xcopy /s *.* %userprofile%\Local Settings\Microsoft\Messenger\<Windows Live ID>\ObjectStore” and press Enter.
         5. Restart Windows Live Messenger and sign in.

That is it.  It is a little tricky, but very doable.

i don't get that part... i have a folder with my emoticons.. how does that last command copy my emoticons from the folder its in to the Messenger folder? also, how is it gonna set shortcuts :S

was kinda hoping there was some program that just does all this lol.

You can try Baisoft MSN Backup.

It works with Windows Live Messenger 8.1 aswell.

it's not working at all. i put my msn addy in there which is not @hotmail.com but ending with something else... tried ticking emoticons for backing up... and it says; there's no element selected - looks like a very basic program anyway.

same thing when i try install objects :S

anyone ever heard of Emoticon Adder for MSN Messenger 6 and 7
MSN_Emoticon_Adder.zip ?

it's awesome... except one problem. it doesn't let you use any prefix... it always has to be a word and by default adds numbers like 01 02 03. you can't stop that from happening and that is gay... i wish you could just use a . so it would be .filename and the emoticon shows up. instead this program has got you using crap like funny01 funny02 funny03 etc - the words have to be the same for all :(  - isn't there some guy out there who can like edit this program to make it do what i want? sounds like a tiny simple edit, lol.
