For the abit about mIRC, do the following:

1. Open mIRC.
.
2. The "mIRC options" should open, close that window.

3. There should be a blank window open, in the bit were you can type, enter the following:

code:
/server irc.msgplus.net

4. mIRC should now connect to the server.

5. After it has connected, a "mIRC Favourites" box should open, type in there which channel you want to go onto (eg: #banana).

In addition to the information Chris UK provided, you could read IRC (chat) Details for more information.

For general information regarding peer-to-peer software, you could look at P2P Software? or [Updated..] Are These Programes Safe?.

Id say Frostwire. Its like limewire except without the adware and viruses and stuff.

Um, Frostwire uses the same Gnutella network as Limewire, the files which are shared can still contain viruses/adware/spyware. The same with any P2P client. The client its self may not be bundled with adware or spyware, but the same can't be said for the files shared on the network.

Oh, and as for me, I'm currently using the latest Limewire Pro beta ;o

use torrents for music (and everything else)
use private trackers, safer and less chance of getting crap cuz its usally cleaned out quickly
