Lock feature in xp? by YourNeibour on 02-27-2007 at 02:31 PM

Hi,

How do I enable the lock feature in windows xp pro, I know there is a run comand for that, (you know the combo of windows key and L)

1. Password protect your account
(Controlpanel > accounts > click on your account and set a password)

A. Fast account switching is on:
WindowsKey+L will switch to welcomescreen, you can unlock by clicking on your account and typing your password
B. Fast switching is off:
(accounts > change the way users log on/off..changing requires adminrights)
No welcomescreen but an unlock screen when hitting WindowsKey+L

Are you looking for the command prompt way to lock your computer?

I quickly made a batch file for you :)
just double click on it and it will lock it

Another way to do this is Start > Run > tsdiscon(Y)
Edit: You can also make a new shortcut where ever and for the path just type in tsdiscon:)(Please tell me if I am wrong or if there is a better way to do this)
