Would love to have a Vista sidebar Gadget. The desktop boxes are nice but if they would only go on my sidebar I'd be in heaven.

what you mean? do you want a vista side bar?

He/She means that it would be cool if desktop contacts were together with the sidebar

I have Vista Sidebar...a gadget goes on the sidebar. One that shows the online contacts would be very nice. All the ones showing up so far don't work.

Messenger Gadget v1.0.0 works fine, I don't really like Sidebar (I'm a minimalism freak) but I just tried it out and you can set it to display only online contacts.

The desktop Contacts feature is already being reworked for Vista, adding contacts to the side bar is definitively something I'm thinking about.

Elijay, I have that gadget and it never worked for me. Just a blank screen and a drop down for status but no list.  Alot of people are having trouble with it.

Patchou that is awesome and I hope it will be soon.  I use messenger for contact with clients for work and this would be great. I used desktop sidebar before I upgraded to Vista and I really miss this feature.

Patchou:  when?  have you got a beta?  anything please.  be glad to donate again just to get a quality sidebar gadget!

rather than making a new post, i'm going to ask here, is there something like that vista sidebar gadget in a docklet for object dock?

but not only getting a gadget to display online contacts but to display selected contacts.. just like dekstop contacts

hmmm, having the desktop contacts dock on the edge of the screen would be quite good
