[Release] =To? 2.0 by vikke on 03-17-2007 at 08:03 PM

When you type in a rush, do you often type = instead of ? at the end of your questions? ^o)
This script will automatically replace them! ;)

New version!!: You can now configure the script as you want, through a dialog. :)
So it'll now work with every keyboard layout!

I know this is very simple, however I use it, and I wanted to share it with you! :)

RE: [Release] =To? by Menthix on 03-17-2007 at 09:13 PM

=?? What kind of dodgy keyboard layout do you have? :p

RE: [Release] =To? by Vilkku on 03-17-2007 at 09:34 PM

Omg, awesome! I always do it :D

MenthiX:  The layout I use (and vikke uses, most likely also Nitro and svip) (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark) have the number keys in this order: ...890+´, 0 also has =  and + has ?, so sometimes your finger can slip on 0 instead of +.

RE: [Release] =To? by vaccination on 03-17-2007 at 10:05 PM

What about if you really do want to put '=' ?

Put a space between the word and the = :P
RE: [Release] =To? by vikke on 03-17-2007 at 10:17 PM

I don't think you want, in the end of a sentence.

RE: [Release] =To? by vikke on 04-03-2007 at 06:42 AM

Update!
+ will now be replaced with ? in the end of your sentences.

RE: [Release] =To? by Rolando on 04-03-2007 at 11:33 AM

This script will automatically replace them! ;)

So, for instance:

I know this is very simple, however I use it, and I wanted to share it with you! :)

vikke
Awesome! :D
Nice one, this will surely be useful. :P
RE: [Release] =To? by Vimto on 04-03-2007 at 12:09 PM

I always type # instead of pressing the enter key. A script for this would be useful (a)

RE: [Release] =To? by albert on 04-03-2007 at 12:13 PM

I'm sorry to bother but couldn't you make it so that we can replace the caracter we usually write instead of ? so it would fit everybody? I usually write the caracter É. ( Going between english and french keyboard for school perpices)

RE: [Release] =To? by Eddie on 04-03-2007 at 01:10 PM

Yeah i recon it would be handy for keyboards with "/" next to the enter button, or around it, cuz i seem to hit / alllll the time before i hit enter *-) hehe ^^

RE: [Release] =To? by vikke on 04-03-2007 at 01:24 PM

Hello boys and girls! :)

I have some questions,
Vimto: What keyboard type are you using? Any specific language?
Alby: Your keyboard is france?
Eddie: US/UK keyboard right?

I will try to make the script more advanced. If you got any suggestions/keyboard problems, post and I'll add them in! :)

Thanks for your feedback,
vikke

RE: [Release] =To? by Eddie on 04-03-2007 at 01:33 PM

Yeah i own a US/UK Keyboard :)

RE: [Release] =To? by vikke on 04-03-2007 at 01:43 PM

Thanks Eddie!
I'm working on a Listbox, where you can add what keys you accidently type instead of ?. So it'll fit all!

PS. If you're intrested, that post is your 1000th post.

What if you really were wanting to put # in a sentence, stopped writing for a minute or so, and found your half completed sentence had been sent?
Difficult to do imo..

If she presses both at same time, the message will be "You there?#", then with this script it will be "You there?".
RE: [Release] =To? by callmegarfield on 04-03-2007 at 04:10 PM

Perhaps create another version for the qwerty keyboard? I don't know about everyone else but i'd rather have ' replaced by a ?

Just a thought.

RE: [Release] =To? by vikke on 04-09-2007 at 07:45 AM

New version released, 2.0, works with every keyboard layout, I think. :)
Changelog:
+ Preferences dialog.
+ About box.
+ A lot more customizable, works with any keyboard layout.

Download: Check main post.

RE: [Release] =To? 2.0 by Oxy on 04-09-2007 at 05:18 PM

Bug:

when typing a url, and / at the end will turn into a question mark.. can you make it to ignore a url?

RE: [Release] =To? 2.0 by vikke on 04-09-2007 at 06:35 PM

For now, I suggest you to type a " " after the url. :(

vikke

RE: [Release] =To? 2.0 by CookieRevised on 04-09-2007 at 11:12 PM

Why not make it completely customizable?
Hard coding things like this is never going to appeal to all users (eg: Lukas' comment).

For each item added to the list add a checkmark which indicates how the replacement is done. Eg: only at end of sentence, words only, all characters, etc... Or make it accept regular expressions so the user can do whatever he wants...

;)
