Im having some issues with my desktop. Just recently, it wouldn't open itunes, i would click on the icon but nothing would happen. I decided to restart windows. When I did, it started off as usual (The Screen that looks like MSDOS) but after that, nothing happens and my monitor goes black. RE: Windows XP wont boot by Val on 04-14-2007 at 11:35 PM That was probably not MSDOS and was probably your BIOS because unlike Windows 9X, Windows XP is not just a layer on top of MSDOS. Could you please expand on this a little bit more? Are you dual booting any other OS? RE: Windows XP wont boot by steVenB on 04-14-2007 at 11:39 PM
Yeah sorry I knew it wasn't msdos but I didnt know the name. RE: Windows XP wont boot by ryxdp on 04-14-2007 at 11:41 PM

My harddrive is listed. Any other ideas? RE: Windows XP wont boot by matty on 04-15-2007 at 12:39 AM
When you say your monitor turns off do you mean it comes up giving you a No Video error? Or it sits at a black screen? RE: Windows XP wont boot by Adeptus on 04-15-2007 at 01:26 AM
Try to boot from a bootable CD (e.g. Windows, or any Linux LiveCD you can download online). Don't do anything if you succeed, just report whether it boots ok, freezes or otherwise malfunctions. RE: Windows XP wont boot by steVenB on 04-15-2007 at 11:27 PM
Hey everyone, I gave up on my computer last night after I checked my BIOS. I just turned it out now and it has loaded windows and everything appears as normal.... this is so strange. I'll post if anything else happens. |
