Dreamscene wallpapers by Oxy on 05-24-2007 at 08:29 PM

..Anyone know a good place to get them? I want good quality ones which for instance, you don't notice the end and the beggining of the loop too much.

Any ideas?

Is there a free alternative for XP (Probably not but you never know...)?

Hi!
To put a animated wallpaper on Windows XP, there is no equivalent of Windows DreamScene, so you can convert a video as a GIF image, with Flash Professional e.g., or VLC, or even another special program to convert it. Then, go to Appearence Settings and chooseyour GIF image as a Wallpaper, and it will be animated. But, you've got to have a powerful computer (Good graphic card, and at less 512 RAM memory, like if it is about DreamScene).

xoxo, Alex

click there to download VLC

Alex Levis "My Sanity" New Album, soon on iTunes and Music Stores.

Actually, with VLC (please link to the original site for downloads, rather than to dodgy French mirror sites) you can use a DirectShow overlay to replace the current wallpaper with a movie from VLC.

It does however use quite a lot of memory, as alex said.

Is the ''Windows Vista Ultimate" requirement a serious thing? It doesn't run on premium..? Really?
