Because the SSH client on my phone was not working properly and I wasn't going to be home from work for another 5 hours?

If WDZ was on MSN Messenger, I would have given him my password.

I, however, wouldn't have given you my password because I don't trust you enough.

Who is tikitiki and aren't there more admins with shell access?

If not then i think one should consider giving more admins access to it..be beter than giving access to somebody unknown...

Chris gave me the necessary access and instructions to restart Apache in case it dies again.

I was just sitting here waiting for quite a few hours today, because all I could do was contact Chris and wj, who both happened to be busy. :p

Ahh cool :D

Imo there always needs to be an admin online here (preferably with all possibly needed access..or means to contact someone who does, busy/online or not :P)

I noticed the forums go off yesterday and waited and waited and waited...ermm i mean looked..looked and looked again to see if forums were up again...no admin showed up online on my list either so i couldn't warn anybody..

Shell access to a server isn't just something you hand out.

Tikitiki is a developer of mine, whom I trust and know - it doesn't matter if you don't know him, I know him well enough to trust him.

Do you want the bash history log to see exactly what he did for his session?

sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart
sudo tail /var/log/apache2/error.log

No there doesn't there is emergency contact methods for all of us.

The only reason I couldn't deal with it was because for some reason the application on my Smartphone I use for SSH was showing up as a trial and not my fully registered copy. If that wasn't the case, the server would have been fixed within 10 minutes of WDZ emailing me.

in any case, the most important thing is: thank you for fixing it.

This is the second time this happens; did you atleast find the reason for the problem?

How about we leave it at this. Problems happen, nothing is 100%, When an issue pops up, we'll fix it.
