Use .info domains in MSN without MSN blocking it. by Nathan on 07-31-2007 at 06:06 PM

Well after I have seen people complaining about the blockage on .info domains (which is poor tbh)
I have made a small script to fix it,

It will place .info to [dot]info so that msn will allow it.

Hope you like it :)

UPDATED.
It now uses a proper link for example:
http://www.boo.info
would be replaced to
http://www.boo.%69nfo <-- that would go to the same place as above.

No, it will work in firefox when you click it from the contact window ;)
+ I think it has something to do with the forum...

You know what would be a better solution? Would be to get the servers IP address :O! :P

Then send that as http://IPADDRESS/

matty, have you installed the script?

RE: Use .info domains in MSN without MSN blocking it. by matty on 07-31-2007 at 08:15 PM

Ya it still doesn't work. Even natively in Firefox it doesn't work.

Firefox v2.0.0.6

It worked on Opera.

And sending it to the IP Address is not really a good idea because of shared hosting.

Wouldn't something like tinyurling it work better, without difficulty, and you could preview it with preview.tinyurl.com?

Well that what me and chris was thinking about (chris's idea) and I think he has decided to code one up. So no point me doing it.
