Got my certificate for the first year of my BND in IT 2 days ago, Distinction overall. :)
I would post the individual module grades, but I'm lazy and the certificate is all the way on my shelf!

Fuck I am really scared about results. What is everyone doing after A-Levels and what do you need to do it?

I am hopefully going to King's College London to to Computer Science, and I need AAC to get in.

RE: A Level / Course Results by aNILEator on 08-15-2007 at 12:41 AM

I'd wish you luck Saralk but we all know it's got f-all to do with luck.

I hope you get the marks you want/need and some ;)

RE: A Level / Course Results by andrewdodd13 on 08-15-2007 at 10:09 AM

I got my results last week, wasn't too interested in them since I have an unconditional acceptance to Heriot Watt to study Software Development, but I got:

Advanced Higher Physics - A
Advanced Higher Maths - C
Higher Human Biology - A

The certificate lists all my previous results as well, but if you really care that much, they're kicking about here somewhere already. :)

i saw a good comic thing in the daily telegraph today -

"i  know A levels are getting easier, but remember that half of the students are drunk when they do them."

The Daily Telegraph would say something like that :P.

Congrats Anubis, 5 great AS grades is something to be proud of, your only meant to do 4 :P.

Critical Thinking is a short course AS level. It's not on a par with normal A-levels. Don't you have to do one at your college? Usually most colleges make you take Critical Thinking or General Studies alongside your studies.
RE: A Level / Course Results by saralk on 08-16-2007 at 01:39 PM

Business Studies - A (Full marks in 3 out of 5 papers and a top 5 mark)

Computing - A

Physics - C

We don't, we have one lesson of Religion a week though because it is a Catholic school :P.
RE: A Level / Course Results by stoshrocket on 08-16-2007 at 09:23 PM

Bah...

I got:

Maths: A
Physics: A
English (combined): C (English isn't my subject)
DT: C (should've been an A, I got one of the best marks for my practical/coursework whihc is worth 60%, however, I majorly screwed up in the exams... I need to re-sit them)
General Studies: B

RE: A Level / Course Results by aNILEator on 08-16-2007 at 11:57 PM

Congrats saralk and methos should be able to get into where you want to go :D

I've never heard of critical thinking or general studies :S

We had some compulsory 'Key skills' thing that our college squeezed all into year one, handy as you don't want to be faffing about in year 2 of college. out group was too good for the standard IT course key skill so we got put into our own special key skill whaich was called improving own learning, was great you got to do wahtever you wanted, I chose flash, my first flash was some dodgy frog, then my improvement was a duck picture wobbling about the page then going uber internet animation supreme with drum n bass and sunglasses, loops amazingly well too :P

Frog animation -> http://nile.zerogen.net/stuff/frog.swf
Duck animation -> http://nile.zerogen.net/stuff/duck.swf  The duck has sunglasses (H) must watch

RE: A Level / Course Results by Lourix on 08-23-2007 at 02:10 PM

Im doing mine next year dunno what to expect havn't even done mocks yet. But if half the people are drunk and get fair grades then it can't be too hard :P

RE: A Level / Course Results by GiantSpider on 08-23-2007 at 03:52 PM

Bah, I am but a week late lol.

Got my AS results last thuursday.

Government & Politics - B
Classical Civilisations - B
Law - B
General Studies - B

Theres a story for all of them lol, on the Politics exam I screwed up the first paper and scraped a C, but on the last paper I did the wrong question and got an A. Work that one out.

For Classics I got 97/105 on one of the papers, and then sucked on my Homer paper.

In law I was 3 marks off an A.

And in General Studies I got a D in the in the politics paper lol. Party because I answer a 15 mark question reading

"Give four disadvantages of a local income tax"

"No, there are not four disadvantages. There is one, and that by people who earn vast amounts of money but live in small properties will cease to be able to evade taxes & will have to contibute to society for a change."

I guess the dude was a tory. Overall though not bad for someone with a GCSE average of 5.2 :D.
