anybody know of an extension for firefox where you can enter something like: msg in the address bar and it will take you straight to msghelp.net..?

If you type msghelp, it will take you straight to msghelp.net
And why don't you just use a bookmark?

Bookmark http://shoutbox.menthix.net, and then add a keyword as "msg".

You can always just go here and download the msgplus toolbar
