[request] FTP Client by roflmao456 on 08-30-2007 at 07:47 PM

i would like to have this :) would save me time from going into smartftp :P

Don't bother with it really. FTP Functions are done synchronously causing Windows Live Messenger to hang. There is the ability of using API Callbacks but not with Plus! Scripting.

I've seen people request a web browser-type function built in too.. isn't it just a bit too much? :undecided:

this ftp thing is too much, but a web browser would be good :)

I'm not argueing with it, I just thought it would make it a bit bulky in size...

Patchou is adding support for it in the next version.  You'll then be able to use this with the likes of web2ftp and have the ftp that you were after I guess.

The idea of a browser control is not so you have a web browser to use in a plus window (it's just IE :S) the idea for the use of it is more to make some features of a script more possible to write (I have a couple of ideas for web2live which wouldn't be possible otherwise).  These browser controls can also be used for ads like what Patchou does in the installer too i guess, but i don't think many people would appreciate that (though you could just hide the window and keep navigating to it.... could be very useful if you have CPM ads :P).

ugh, why make it in a script when an external program can do it 10000000x better :( just use a ftp program like filezilla

I was thinking about doing this in my update window, because people updating rapes my server :( (my updater is currently disabled)

not really, because it just embeds the IE control. so you dont have to package an entire browser with the program :P

The browser control will be very nice :P, i could make a vista search log viewer then with highlightable keywords and stuff

seems easier just to click a quicklaunch icon

quicklaunch ftw! and yea the browser is good but just use a program for this... there are many out there... i have used 3 + a web based one in all my time of having a server (smartftp -> fireftp (good one) -> filezilla (teh best))
