I hate this function very much.... I always clicked "esc" and closed the window imprudently.

how about you?

Yeah I guess it can be a bit annoying, but also a useful shortcut key to close a conversation... better keyboard skills should solve the issue though...

ignore my ealier comment

this script saves any text you were writting when you accidently press esc, the unfinished message will re-appear next time you open that specific chat window.

i would like to cancel this function more than keeping my message.... i am wondering that if plus provides "event" variable as in browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox? i would like to try it with event.keyCode if do

Perhaps you are interested in reading Request - Escape key script; especially matty's reply to Request - Escape key script seems interesting. Attached to his post is a script that changes the functionality of the Escape key in a conversation window so the key does no longer close the window, but simply removes the already typed text.
