Looks a lot better!

RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by nunoperalta on 09-11-2007 at 11:00 PM

lol... simple but cool :P

RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by Nagamasa on 09-11-2007 at 11:04 PM

Its not a skin that I would use, but taking Sunshine's ideas in her screenie is much better.

And what's with the in-constructive criticism people?

What? Just using a normal bg? IMO it doesn't look too habe much changed (the skin) so lets hope that the contact list looks better

Well Sunshine's bg makes it seem much more sense cause there is this patch of sand that seems to abruptly end.

Also, the skin doesn't show enough colour in the bg to depict the fact that it was a beach (aka too much blue, add in some sand colour.

Oh and also, it would be AMAZING if you could make the messenger people be wearing things too.

If you are talking about the top of conversation window, i accept what you said.
RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by Chris4 on 09-12-2007 at 01:42 AM

I like the idea with the display pictures, a bit different.

Apart from that, I don't really like it. Take a look at Sunshine's example, looks a lot better.

Keep trying though! :D

RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by Kenji on 09-12-2007 at 01:49 AM

Ew.. its worse than your other skins.. I didn't think that would be possible.

Btw: http://nunoperalta.no.sapo.pt/skin8.1/index.html

"IMPORTANT: This skin will not work with laptops. "

Is that meant to be a joke or something? 8-)

Did you try to install on a laptop?

I can't be bothered to install the skin, but could you please explain how the skin can't work on laptops? o.o
RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by nunoperalta on 09-12-2007 at 06:49 AM

After instal you can't open the messenger.

(the messenger will not run, without error alerts)

RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by vaccination on 09-12-2007 at 07:04 AM

Well it's still the same messenger on both laptop and PC, so if it works on a PC it should run fine on a laptop =/

RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by nunoperalta on 09-12-2007 at 08:07 AM

Can you explain me why Windows Vista is more stretched on a laptop than on a PC?
Is not the same thing? -.-

I can't understand why, but with laptop everybody reports me that messenger doesn't run.

RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by ahmetgns on 09-12-2007 at 08:31 AM

Remember, I couldn't run your Vista Messenger skin on my laptop. But I could run it on my sister's laptop. Also my two friends couldn't on their desktop computers. Sorry nuno, but a bad guess. I assume that vista skin and beach skin work similarly so I gave these examples. If beach skin is different, I'm sorry then.

Is your laptop an Acer ?

The brand of a laptop or even the fact the a system is a laptop in general has nothing to do with software not working on it. A laptop is just like any other normal PC, it just has a different physical size. Laptops run the exact same version of Windows and Messenger as desktop PCs.

yes... this answer is what i think... but i don't know why (for my friends) the skin doesn't work for laptops...
coincidence? :(

If is the same version of all, why works for some people, and doesn't work for other people?
RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by aNILEator on 09-12-2007 at 05:30 PM

I like the DP surrounding border boxes, but I think icons and graphics need a bit more summer-ising, maybe add some more beach realted stuff eg messenger buddies colours, sand castles, beach balls etc

RE: RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by nunoperalta on 09-12-2007 at 06:43 PM

Please visit the blog and comment on the blog.

I will not be active on this forum.

No, it is Toshiba. I'm saying this only because you asked it, but I totally agree with MenthiX.

As I said earlier, I didn't see your Vista skin worked on any Turkish Windows (4 computer), but I'm sure I could run it on all English Windows (all of them XP). I believe it is somewhat related to different language versions of Windows.
RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by nunoperalta on 09-19-2007 at 11:46 PM

Hi.

New feature on the skin.

Check the blog http://nunoperalta.com and comment on it =D

RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by nunoperalta on 11-25-2007 at 02:31 AM

Do you want to see the first look of Contact List's window?

Visit http://nunoperalta.com/ and comment about the window. ;)

(this message was only an update ;) i prefer you comment in the blog about the skin =) thanks*)

RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by Rolando on 11-25-2007 at 03:08 AM

This skin is going to be pretty pointless when MP!L version gets released and all other skins are: easily reversible, and don't affect the way WLM works. :p

RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by Lt.Col.DraGon on 11-25-2007 at 03:10 AM

wow that skin is looking pretty nice, good job (y)

RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by NanaFreak on 11-25-2007 at 04:41 AM

@Napbree

Can't you say why you don't like it?

RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by Nathan on 11-25-2007 at 11:22 AM

Nothing blends togeather, and then theres that orange menu bar which isnt very nice.
The colours are too pale and I just dont like it :( Sorry

RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by YourNeibour on 11-26-2007 at 03:01 PM

To be honest not a big fan of it.  I think it's a little to cluttered and busy.

RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by vikke on 11-26-2007 at 03:52 PM

  • You cut the girls legs off.
  • You've forgotten to put a girl in the contact list.
  • The sunglasses on the WLM buddies, rotate them.
  • You cannot see the wordwheel in the contact list, because it's buried in sand.
I don't like it, as Nathan said, the colors doesn't fit together. Oh and, it's winter here. :)
RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by Patchou on 12-02-2007 at 07:52 PM

I actually like the idea and the main looks of this skin! it changes from the usual stuff. I hope you'll make it work with the new skinning system :) (email me, I'll send you the doc).

c'mon people, don't change your opinion just because it has the official patchou seal of approval (something that really needs an image imo).
RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by NanaFreak on 12-02-2007 at 11:38 PM

i still hate it ;o

RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by Lou on 12-02-2007 at 11:46 PM

I'll be honest, I don't like it.

RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by Rolando on 12-02-2007 at 11:50 PM

I still don't like it :p.. the colors.. the way everything goes together.. the contact icon with the hat that looks like it was made on paint..

Sorry.. I know it must've taken a lot of work, but still..

RE: Windows Beach Messenger (Alpha) by ahmetgns on 12-03-2007 at 10:50 AM

I liked this skin, before and after patchou, it looks very good, but it will be better if it is made as a Messenger Plus! Live Skin pack.

Edit: Nana, why do you hate it? If you didn't like it, don't use it but the word "hate" is very offensive I think.
