need help with adware by Discrate on 09-14-2007 at 02:54 AM

My dad downloaded some stupid adware crap without knowing, i tried to get rid of it with my anti virus program but it will not go.  The adware is called  AntiVIrGear. Also there is this other adware program called iesmn.exe which is related to AntiVIrGear. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of them?

Try a system restore, then install Ad-Aware and AVG to prevent such things from happening :p.

Do not take my word for it but I think you have to kill it before it can be removed even with most anti-viruses.

Symantec has a report here but it probably gives you a way in which NAV is needed.

Just curious what is your anti-virus?
