difference between 'idle' and 'away'? by kryp2nyt on 09-14-2007 at 12:58 PM

Hi all :)

was just wondering whats the difference between idle and away statuses?

Some of my contacts are idle, and the other are 'away'.

whats that?

away means that the users had set there status to away
idle means that they haven't touched there computer for a certain ammount of time* (normally 5 minutes, but can be changed. tools > options > show me as away when inactive for 'x' mins)

*idle however can be forced with a script, see here for details CookieRevised's reply to [REQUEST]Idle lies
