Hello,
I recently installed CUTE-FTP and after that I encountered this the icon of the "Documents" folder changed by itself and now I am unable to change it back to the default as the option to this is not there...

baah, this happened to me also but with the Music folder...
i spent lots of time trying to fix it.. but i gave up after
so i reinstalled vista! (upgrade, not clean install)
and it fixed it

As a guess, I'm thinking something has changed Desktop.ini in your Documents folder.
It's a hidden file so you'll need to enable viewing hidden files and folders to see it.
On my Vista installation, the file contains the following:
quote: [.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21770
IconResource=%SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll,-112
IconFile=%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll
IconIndex=-235
A bit more on Desktop.ini

my desktop.ini file in the documents folder is the same.... as written here
