Isn't that 1100 just like in the Plus! preferences? If so it's not recommended to go any higher. Theoretically you can go higher, but that could cause problems.

you mean the limit on how many you can send in a certain amount of time? No, this is a plus protection against flooders and spamming scripts.

I suppose someone could write a script to compress the message on this end (using an algorithm or so), and inflate it on the other, but you'd both need the script for that.

AFAIK apart from this, there's no way around the SendMessage limit. This is due to the maximum size of a message packet being dropped if the whole thing is bigger than 1664 bytes - maybe someone had been drinking Kronenbourg or something.

You can't do that easily because ChatWnd_OnReceiveMessage's returned string can not be longer than its Message parameter.
