heyya i checked the search and there was no thread like this soo here goes:

I LOCKED MY MESSENGER PLUS! LIVE THROUGH THE PREFERENCES> LOCK
FEATURE

I READ SOME STICKIES( I 4GOT WHERE THEY WERE ) BUT THEY TOTALLY DID NOT HELP

PLEASE TELL ME ONE, JUST ONE BEST WAY TO UNLOCK MY MESSENEGR PLUS! LIVE OR TELL ME (IF IT'S HIDDEN SOMEWHERE) WHERE TO FIND IT

MY WLM SIGNING IN ICON HAS AN ANNOYING BLACK BACKGROUND!
AND ALMOST ALL MY EMOTICONS, IMAGES , ETC... HAVE REALLY ANNOYING BLACK BACKGROUNDS...
I HATE MYSELF FOR LOCKING PLUS!(ACCIDENTS HAPPEN)

I WAS USING MESSENGER PLUS! LIVE VERSION 4.23.276

I HOPE THIS DISCRIPTION IS DETAILED ENOUGH TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM.

Hold alt, ctrl, delete. Find wlm, click "end process", get back into messenger and bam. Next time remember the password.

i'm using WLM now
but... i don't have plus! cause i locked it through preferences lock feature...

ah, well do you know the password? because i dont think you can get back into it without that... you might need to do registry stuff but i wouldnt try that as that can fuck everything up

what password? inever put any password... i accidentally pressed the button to lock plus! in the preferences panel and messenger was jammed then i restarted my PC and signed in to WLM and WLM is workin but no plus!...

so are there still the Messenger Plus Live icons on the contact list? or have they disappeared?

they have dissappeared...

and my signing in icons and some of my emoticons have black backgrounds...

can you check if Messenger Plus! Live is still installed with Add/Remove Programs, it will be called: "Messenger Plus! Live"

i think it would be best if you just wait for Patchou to look into this thread or someone else who knows more about Messenger Plus! Live and i do, because i have no clue what is wrong now...

uninstall it with add/remove programs, redowload and install... it might work

A friend of mine's got the same problem. i asked him to do all the obvious stuff: uninstall plus and messenger, delete folders, then reinstall Messenger without Plus, and he still got the problem, so i guess we can say it's not related to Plus!

But i cant figure out what the problem is He said he got the problem after having some issues while signing in. He was getting the typical error which is solved by updating the date/time of the computer. Then he could finally sign in, but he got the problem explained above (emoticons with black background, no Plus! at all...)

He has never installed other programs for messenger. He didnt use the lock feature either

Any ideas?

i locked thru preferences...

Sounds like there's a problem with the PNG graphics engine as this is exactly how Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 displays transparent PNG files with alpha channel: with black back. So if you just installed Internet Explorer 7, maybe the issue has solved, though I can't guarantee. Wanna have a try?

Omg i have the same problem. I decided to update my WLM & Messenger Plus as well.. When I try to put in my password in that I am 90% certain is correct, it says its wrong..

Therefore it's either my bad memory or something happened.. I hope the next patch does something to fix this as I've grown to love using M.Plus with my messenger!!! *cries*
